Rowyn watched with a smile as the little girl pestered her mother, excitement at getting the chance to play evident. Rowyn remembered when she was little how titles and such didn’t matter in the eyes of a child at play.
“I do I just got done escorting the Princess to closed gardens.” she responded cleaning up the mess on her table
“Did you hear that, Mama? They’re in the gardens! Come on,
come on, come on!” Myriah cried, already dashing for the door.
“What do we say to Lady Rowyn?” Viola called.
“Thank you, Lady Rowyn!” Myriah yelled over her shoulder.
Viola smiled and shook her head apologetically at Lady
Rowyn.
Rowyn smiled at the child, excited to one day have some of her own, how much joy it would be to have a piece of yourself rediscovering the world you have always known and finding it beautiful and pure.
“Ye are most Velcome sweet Lion!” she called back and grinned at her mother.
“Aye but for now this work is easy for ‘er, ‘ow I envy the children anymore, to be little and carefree once more.” she shook her head.
“Is it ‘ard being a madder? mine always said it vas easy but, then again she always knew just ‘ow to hand my brudders and sessters.”
Viola listened to her daughter’s pattering steps as she
rushed down the hallway. She would catch up with Myriah in a moment. Although
she was a mother and a wife, she was still a fast runner.
“I try to be as light and carefree as I can. It’s easy,
since I spend most of my time with my Myriah. Tytos and I do our best to spend
at least an hour with her a day. And being a mother is…well, it’s not hard. The
pregnancy is hell, I’ll grant you. Tytos left me halfway through after I told
him I was going to…well, it was neither polite nor ideal for our planned
future. He had me sent my favorite dishes daily. But having a child, it’s as if
you’ve been given a piece of paradise, to love all your own.”
Viola chuckled. “I will try, but I think he prefers to have a reason for people to come to the Reach. Evidently mine and Lynesse leaving has caused a lull in visitors.” She tossed her hair back, smiling teasingly. “Obviously our beauty was the reason the Reach was so prosperous before we married.”
Rossemary laughed, playing along. “I believe it, cousin. At least half of the visitors to Highgarden must have been the two of your suitors, no?” she asked with a grin. In truth, it sounded a little like an excuse for Lord Tyrell to have his sisters visit Highgarden more often, but it was an excuse she sometimes wished her own brothers used to pull her back to Oldtown, so she wouldn’t say anything about it—besides, it was sweet.
“Oh, at least,” Viola said with mock seriousness, nodding.
She couldn’t help laughing. “In all truth, I will try to get him to have more
of the apples traded outside of the Reach. Gods knows they’d bring in a profit,
and surely those who live here must be sick of them. I know I have often found
myself accustomed to the sights and smells of Casterly Rock, but that is only
because I have been there so long. I’m certain that people would enjoy the
fresh taste of apples from the Reach.”
Viola sank her teeth into the apple, stifling a gasp of pleasure as the fruit’s juice hit her tongue. “Oh, gods,” she moaned, wiping away a trickle that was making its way down her chin. “These are amazing.”
Rossemary took another bite and sighed, letting her hand fall to the side even as juice dribbled down her chin. “Viola, you must speak with me to your brother and convince him to sell more of these outside the Reach. Gods, they’re so tempting. The cook would have spots if I told him, but I want to bake these into a pie for ten myself.”

Rowyn.
The sound of a quill on parchment hung heavy in the air as Rowyn scrawled away intently. Her brow knitted in determination, though to an onlooker she would seem angry, in reality she was lost in thought, her face falling into a scowl by habit.
Oblivious to the world around Her Rowyn did not notice the person enter her chambers until the spoke, startled out of her inner sanctuary her hand smacked against the well of ink, spilling it all over the paper she had been working on and shattering on the floor below.
“Oh Seven Hells and those below!” she screeched fumbling around, before looking at the intruder, embarrassed she spoke.
“I’m sorry?”
“Uh, no, it’s all right,” Viola said. “I was looking for my
daughter, and I thought she came in here. She’s taken to playing hide-and-seek
with me whenever she sees me…regardless of whether or not I’m in a gaming mood,
I’m afraid.”
She listened intently for any sound of her daughter’s faint
giggles. The travel had not bothered Myriah in the least—the child was just as adventurous
and spirited as her parents were. Viola had determined that as soon as she and
Tytos had a free moment, they would both take Myriah out into the gardens,
perhaps with Viola’s sisters, and play a game of hide-and-seek themselves.
“Daughter hmmm, does she have downy soft blonde hair and wearing a little red gown?” Rowyn asked as she stood hearing a giggle coming from her wardrobe.
She walked over stealthily after saying “I think she went in the hall let us look there.” and motioning to Viola to remain in place. She gripped the handle and pulled the door open “Ahh found ye little lion!” Rowyn playfully said as she found the child hiding under one of her dresses. her feet sticking out from the poor hiding attempt.
“Myriah!” Viola cried. “You hid so well, I needed help to
find you!”
Her daughter giggled and squirmed past Lady Rowyn’s tickling
fingers and rush to Viola.
“Again, again, Mama!”
“’Again’? But with just the two of us, it is so dreadfully
boring,” Viola teased.
“Aye ye hide well little lion. too well!” Rowyn grinned as she watched the girl run over to her mother. Children always made her happy.
“You know, I do think Princess Visera was looking for someone to play with along with Lady Pipers youngest? Perhaps they vould like to play hide and seek?” Rowyn offered, seeming to understand how tiresome the same game over and over could be, unlike them children never seemed to run out of energy until they toppled over asleep.
“Can we go find them, Mama, can we, can we?” Myriah begged, leaping up and down as she jerked at Viola’s hand. “Well, does Lady Rowyn know where they are?” Viola asked.
Rossemary sighed and nodded. “They are indeed. Oh, this is why Reach apples are truly the best. No orchards in the Riverlands can begin to compare.”
Viola sank her teeth into the apple, stifling a gasp of pleasure as the fruit’s juice hit her tongue. “Oh, gods,” she moaned, wiping away a trickle that was making its way down her chin. “These are amazing.”

“I try to be, mother raised me to be great, I only hope to fullfil that wish. and Myriah will have a happy life I am sure of this.”
“Your mother would be proud if you. I hope mine would be of me, but I don’t know if she wanted a tomboy for a daughter. Though I think I’ve gotten better. Tytos says I have.”
